Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic Preparedness Plan
The health and safety of our employees and contractors is always most important. In the current environment, it’s important for all of us to monitor the rapidly evolving situation involving the Coronavirus or COVID-19, so I thought it would be helpful to provide an update on how we are handling the situation at CCD Technologies.
First and foremost, safety is always our top priority at CCD Technologies – it’s part of our core values, and a shared value with our customers, vendors and partners. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, we have taken the following steps to address COVID-19:
In the event that an employee that has been actively working tests positive for COVID-19 or has symptoms and were in close contact with a confirmed or probable positive COVID-19 case, they must immediately contact Health Link 811 and inform their supervisor. They must not go to site or visit the office. While still fresh in their memory, we ask that the employee make a list of those they have been in close contact with, the day the symptoms started or the day of their positive test, and at least the two days preceding for the purpose of contact tracing.
CCD Technologies encourages all our employees, clients and suppliers to visit the following websites for up to date information and advice rather than relying on what they hear on social media:
During these uncertain stressful times, there may be more need for emotional support as more people have been impacted by such things as financial pressures, unemployment or other stressful situations regarding the current outbreak. People who already experience anxiety may find their anxiety worsening.
If you are struggling, you are not alone, please reach out to one of the many supports in place through Alberta Health Services (albertahealthservices.ca).
While some of these precautionary measures may seem inconvenient, they are being taken out of an abundance of caution to keep you all safe. It is presently unclear how long these restrictions will remain in place, but we will continue to communicate regularly as the situation evolves. Thank you all once again for your understanding and commitment during this challenging time. Should you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to myself at joelh@ccdtech.com or 587-785-6425.

First and foremost, safety is always our top priority at CCD Technologies – it’s part of our core values, and a shared value with our customers, vendors and partners. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, we have taken the following steps to address COVID-19:
- Employees are to stay home if sick until no longer having symptoms, use Alberta Health Services online self-assessment tool and call Health Link 811 for instructions if necessary.
- Employees who have traveled outside of Canada, have had family members who have done so, and/or who have been in proximity to anyone suspected of having or confirmed with the virus to self-isolate at home for the next 14 days.
- All CCD Technologies employees will have the ability to immediately remove from the work site and send home another employee who is presenting COVID-19 symptoms, the employee showing symptoms must return home in a personal/work vehicle, not public transportation, and immediately self-isolate and use AHS online self-assessment.
- All employees must fill out our Infectious Respiratory Diseases Questionnaire at minimum the start of each week and we ask them to self-assess/self-monitor their health each day prior to coming to work and throughout the day while working. CCD will also perform daily temperature checks for all employees prior to going to the worksite.
- Use good hygiene practices, such as frequent hand washing with warm soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and hand sanitizers if soap and water is not available. Small hand sanitizers are available to all employees, refills are available in the office.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and put used tissue directly into a waste basket. If you don’t have a tissue use your upper sleeve, not your hands.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces as often as you can. Lysol spray and/or wipes are available in all work trucks.
- We have adopted a “no hand-shake policy” and will maintain physical distancing of about 6 feet from others when possible, if 6 feet of physical distance cannot be maintained, the interaction must have some form of physical barrier used (face shields, screens, half masks, dust masks, etc.). Surgical masks are equipped in all work trucks, with more available at the shop as needed for restocking.
- Avoid large crowds and follow all city/provincial rules that have been set in place.
- We have limited business travel to only that essential to operating our business, and to conduct meetings by phone or video wherever possible.
- If there is work that can be done remotely from home via computer/phone, we encourage employees to take advantage of that option.
- We have communicated with our suppliers and partners these policies and asked them to apply similar guidance to their employees who might visit CCD Technologies offices or site locations
- All CCD Technologies employees visiting or working on client sites, will abide by any site-specific protocols
